Sleeplessness is a national public health epidemic. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has sounded the alarm and urges everyone to address this vital aspect of our personal health. In this workshop, you will learn:
- what is causing your sleeplessness
- why most people wake up at 3 a.m.
- how to fall asleep easily
- how to get back to sleep quickly
- how to let go of daily stresses
If you struggle with stress-based insomnia, this workshop will teach you tools that can change your life. The Sounder Sleep System consists of gentle yet remarkably effective movement and breathing techniques called NightTamers that you do right in your own bed to make falling asleep easy and pleasurable. If you wake up during the night, the NightTamers get you back to sleep in no time. In these turbulent times, these are essential tools for self-healing and inner peace. The Sounder Sleep System is based on the discovery that certain small, slow, repeated physical movements can shift us from the active, waking state to a state of profound physical and mental repose. When we reach that tranquil state, if we need sleep, we will fall asleep. When you sleep better, you feel better and enjoy life more. Space is limited: register now.
THE FORMAT: The Sominar is a weekend, in-town retreat at the Feldenkrais Center of Houston.
We will convene Friday evening, 7-9 p.m., for an introduction to the weekend, to learn the scientific basis for the workshop, AND to learn a strategy to practice THAT EVENING when you go to bed.
Saturday, 9:30 – 4:30 with a 90 minute break at midday for lunch on your own. You will learn and practice being able to fall asleep. Sounds, a little weird, but the day is AMAZING. You will go home Saturday night, go to bed at a reasonable hour, and practice.
Sunday, 1-3 p.m., recap and wrap up. Review, practice, enjoy.
Your successful learning depends upon your presence at the entire weekend. If you cannot be present for one or more portions, please register for a different weekend when you can attend for the whole process.
